Exploring Reservoir Potential of the "X Field" Offshore, Niger Delta Basin: An Emphasis on Lithofacies, Depositional Environments, and Petrophysical Characteristics

The geological circumstances under which sediments are built throughout time referred to as depositional environments. features of the sediment, such its texture, composition, and permeability, influenced by these environments, qualities ultimately define reservoir quality. This study focuses on identifying reservoirs in western offshore region Nigeria's Niger Delta Basin evaluating their properties, lithofacies, distribution, petrophysical characteristics like porosity using well log analysis. By utilizing relevant easily accessible data, environment quality were evaluated. data analysis involved examining gamma-ray patterns, spontaneous potential, deep resistivity, neutron, density. thickness varies between 15 440 meters, with thicker likely being composite structures formed from layered channels. Sands deposited high-energy settings have higher levels permeability. C D most porous permeable sand units field, while remaining sands medium Hydrocarbons present B, C, D, E varying fluid types column diameters. high hydrocarbon saturation low water saturation, indicating that more oil than will be produced. On other hand, irreducible B suggests Reservoir contain only oil. information can aid locating production platforms optimizing recovery, improving performance estimates. collected this also guide fields similar "X Field" region.
